DESCRIPTION:All kids\, ages 5 — 17 are invited to participate in this first annual Connecticut Youth Field Trial and Fun Day. The youth trial will be preceded by a bird dog training and handling clinic. Mark your calendars for June 22\, 2025\, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The event will be held on the beautiful Markover Hunting Preserve located in central Connecticut (Danielson). All pointing dog breeds and of any age are welcome (registered or not). Judges: Tim Cavanaugh\, East Hampton\, CT\, Brian Dix\, Wilmington\, VT\, and Rob Hopkins. Entries close on June 1…get ’em in! Contact Kaitlyn Judd at 860-455-8129 (call or text) or email. \nKnowledgable field trialers will conduct the training clinic and judge the trial\, giving a helping hand along the way. No previous experience is necessary — just a love of dogs and the outdoors! \nRosettes\, lanyards & top notch handler whistles and other prizes will be awarded to the trial winners. SUMMARY:Chuck Cox Walking Youth Stake
DESCRIPTION:The National Chukar Championship Association presents the first annual Chuck Cox Walking Youth Stake. \n30 minute stake for junior handlers ages 5-17. No dog registration required. Held to “steady to flush” standard contested on released chukar and pheasant. All youth handlers entered will receive a handler’s bag containing everything they’ll need to run in the stake. Dogs will be available for kids who would like to participate but do not currently own a pointing breed dog. 1st place winner will receive a trophy donated by Jamie Daniels of Daniels Kennels\, Bronwood\, GA. Thanks to YFTA supporters Lion Country Supply and Purina for their support of this trial. All 4 placements receive ribbons. Blank ammunition only. Entry fee: $10 (by donation). Limited to 24 entries.
