YFTA 2023 Accomplishments

Recapping some of YFTA’s 2023 accomplishments:

•  Maintained Events & archived News web pages, published reports and photos from youth stakes we attended as well as those we could not.

•  Maintained Social Media pages: YFTA FB and Instagram, FB Strideaway Group.

•  May/June 2023 issue of Sporting Classics, YFTA story by outdoor writer Tom Davis.

•  Reached out to field trialers around the country re: youth trials, Ambassador Program, initiated Youth Judging Apprenticeship Program.

• “Tips from the Pros” Summer, 2023 email blasts, featuring training/handling podcasts.

•  Presentation and promotion of YFTA at the Dixie Trace FTA Annual Summer meeting.

•  Advanced a mutually beneficial relationship with National Bird Hunters Association (NBHA) to further opportunities for youth walking stakes.

•  Designed YFTA marketing materials: banners, large outdoor fabric display, and brochures for game fair and other events.

•  Organized/rehearsed Youth Pointing Dog Demo for the 2023 Kevin’s Southern Game Fair (Nov. 10, Chinquapin Plantation, Thomasville, GA). 4th season YFTA has been invited to attend!

•  Attended, supported and/or sponsored, photographed and sent 8 x 10 photos to winners of:

–  2023  Black Belt Youth Trial (Nov. 12, Ochlocknee, GA)

–  2023  Nancy Pearce (Pinewoods BDC) Youth Trial (Nov 11, Monticello, FL)

–  2023  Butch Bennett Memorial Youth Trial (March 28, Tallahassee, FL)

•  Worked on getting more media coverage for youth field trials (upcoming Gun Dog magazine article).

•  Assisting with two additional youth field trials coming up in Georgia, 2024 (Round Pond Youth Classic, Youth Field Trial on Nilo Plantation).
